And we begin here

Hi everyone,

Why am I doing this?: As an accountability mirror for myself and to all you guys.

Who am I?: A software dev with 2+yr experience by day, dabbling writer and voracious reader by night.

What is this whole blog series about?: Yes, this will be a blog series updated every night (mostly).

It is my way of journalling about what I did that day for my immediate goal, that is becoming a full stack developer in MERN Stack.

Current MERN skill-set level: 0.

So this may work as a beginner level guide, but in the meantime it will serve as a beacon for me and others who are treading the same or similar path, a constant motivation hit till we internalize working for our future every day.

Resources planned (Subject to modification):

For fundamentals:

  • Algorithms and DS in JS by Steel colt in Udemy.
  • Leet code for problem solving.

MERN stack:

  • Modern Javascript bootcamp udemy course.
  • Modern React with Redux udemy course.
  • Freecodecamp for full stack code practice.

Project Ideas:

  1. Reader, an app based on React Native (based on Tinder's idea to swipe books based on data)
  2. Pokedex website using MERN.
  3. A blogging website with look, feel and sound of using an old school typewriter.

My current plan (Subject to modifications based on inputs from you guys and better skilled people):

  1. 1 hr meditation in the morning (Search about that + "Naval ravikant" keyword in YouTube), followed a by PPL workout.
  2. Office .
  3. 1 hr Algo DS course / practise in the lunch break.
  4. Office.
  5. Chores.
  6. 2 hr of JS course/ practise.

Timeline: The plan is to complete the theory and projects in 5 months as of now, starting tomorrow.

Note: I understand the number of hours is just a vanity metric, but for now it's a good way to measure what I did and we can shift to things completed or problems solved as metrics as we proceed.

What to expect from my posts:

  • A quick update on what I studied/ practised and explanations of any problem or logic if I encountered any.
  • What books I'm reading daily and YT/ podcasts/articles I find interesting.
  • My thoughts on various issues, mental state, and overall journey.

PS: I will blog every night for most part, I might not, sometimes.
